  • Urgent Care Clinic

The Ancient Rivers FHO is pleased to welcome Dr. Saeed Taghavifar‬ to our community!‬

‭Dr. Taghavifar will be hosting urgent care clinics at the Calabogie‬ Medical Centre, every 2 weeks on Tuesdays. He will begin July 8,‬ 2025. His clinic will follow a similar format to the After Hours clinics‬ and he will be seeing patients from 9-12 and 1-4 for both same day‬ and walk-in appointments. Patients must be rostered to the FHO. He‬ is not seeing unattached patients during this clinic at this time. Consult the monthly calendar for times and dates.

As this is NOT an after hours clinic, please try to make an appointment with your family doctor first.

  • After Hours Clinics

We are pleased to announce we will be offering after hours clinics for patients of our Ancient Rivers Family Health Organization. Patients who are members of Renfrew Medical Group, Renfrew Medical Associates, Renfrew Health Village or Calabogie Clinic must call their respective medical office for an appointment, or walk in from 5-8pm at the appropriate clinic.

Clinics will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5-8 pm and will offer limited walk-in and pre-scheduled appointments to patients of our doctors for urgent issues. Please consult the monthly calendar for clinic dates and locations.

Walk-in slots are limited and we do recommend patients arrive at 5 pm if they are hoping to secure a walk-in appointment. Patients will be seen in order of booking. Walk-ins are typically seen later in the clinic and will be given the option of waiting or leaving and returning at the scheduled time.

  • Prescription Renewal Policy

RMG is instituting a prescription renewal policy.

We have been receiving a massive influx of prescription renewal requests that takes a significant amount of physician time to review. This time could be better allocated towards direct patient care. We have noticed MANY of these could have been addressed if patients had brought this to our attention at a recent appointment. We ask that when you have your appointment, please bring in all your medications with you so that your physician can ensure  you will have enough of your prescriptions until your next appointment. Starting January 1, 2025, patients will be charged $20 for prescription renewals without an appointment.  If you have NO further renewals of your prescription(s) please book an appointment with your physician, since that would indicate that it is time to review your medications.

  • Scam Alert

Phishing scams are on the rise. Please note that the Renfrew Medical Group NEVER calls or emails patients for banking or credit card information. If you receive any communications requesting the above, please note that these are scams – not legitimate requests from RMG.

  • COVID-19 Precautions

Renfrew Medical Group encourages wearing masks when within 2m of others.

Protecting staff and patients remains a priority. Patients with ANY symptoms of COVID-19 that are coming to the office in person MUST wear a mask. If you do not have a mask, we will provide you one.

  • Possible Treatment for COVID-19 Infection

High Risk Patients (for example, those who are immunocompromised, over the age of 70, unvaccinated, partially vaccinated and/or those with significant medical problems) may qualify for treatment if they have a positive COVID test (either through a PCR test or a rapid antigen test). Treatment would have to begin within the first 5 days of symptoms.
